This chilly weather got me changing up my breakfast from cool yogurts and smoothies to warming oats. They are a healthy way to start they day and keep me fueled until lunch time. My favorite gluten free rolled oats are Bob’s Red Mills . These oats also have special powers thanks to Sunfood!
You’ll find superfoods Maca and Lucuma in these oats. Maca contains calcium, magnesium, and potassium. It also helps balance hormones and increase energy. Lucuma is full of Vitamin C, perfect for helping boost immunity during this time of transitioning seasons.
Makes 2 Servings
1 cup water
1 Tbsp Sunfood Lucuma
1 Tbsp Sunfood Maca
2 Tbsp Sunfood Coconut Palm Sugar
1 pinch salt
Start by adding water to a sauce pan, add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add rolled oats and bring to a simmer. Then, add lucuma, maca, and coconut palm sugar. Stir every few minutes for 15-20 minutes depending on desired thickness.
Top with dried fruit, chopped walnuts, a splash of nut milk to make extra creamy and enjoy on a cozy morning!
